Fuel Regulator Question

I am about ready to install the Trick Flow intake, 24lb injectors, mass air meter, and 255lph fuel pump... My question is.. do I need the Fuel Pressure Regulator, or will the computer and all handle it fine? I don't have any way of tuning the fuel pressure regulator nor do I have any expierence with one... I was just curious, because I am starting the project tomorrow and someone said I don't need it. What do you guys think?

I think you have the terms mixed up crunchie. You are asking whether you need an ADJUSTABLE fuel pressure regulator, right? Sounded in your first post like you wondered if you needed a fuel pressure regulator at all. If your stock FPR is ok, than just use that. There is a lot of debate over the need for an adjustable one, since the ECU will compensate for lower or higher pressure with longer or shorter injector pulses. Only at WOT will the preset fp come into play. I went to an adjustable one only because my stock one crapped out on me, and the adjustable one was cheaper, and also nicer lookin'. Do a search on here regarding Fuel Pressure, Jrichter has a good article on how to do a seat of the pants test for ideal fuel pressure.

crunchie, sorry about my first post. i must have been preoccupied or in a bad mood. i try not to come off rude like that. sorry bud.

Blk92 summed it up very nicely. an adjustable FPR will flow more fuel at WOT, but the puter compensates during non WOT driving (it compensates up to about +/-25%).

good luck.

Judging from your sig. I'd say you take your car to the strip. I say stick on the adjustable one. Easy fix if you notice you're running a little lean at WOT. If you got it already, definitely install it.
