Fuel tank pick up

Anyone know how to fab a pick up for my fuel tank, or a page that shows how to. Its for my 89 5.0 that ive converted to Carb, i really dont wanna shell out the $100 for a new one when i know you can make one, just dont know how, im always lookin to save money when i can. Thanx in advance.

The cheapest is to remove the fuel pump and simply put a piece of rubber fuel line in its place that reaches the bottom of the tank.

I am trying to figure out how to do this, but for a mostly track car, so I decided on sumping the tank or a fuel cell.

The aftermarket pickups seemed like a good solution. I am not fond of halfway measures in gas tanks.

The rubber line trick works just fine. If you really want, you can use a piece of 3/8" steel or aluminum line and join it all together with a small piece of rubber hose.

You can also braze a piece of metal line on to it.

i bought a pick up for mine. didn't think it was 100 bucks. it has no provision for the electric pump on it. anyways the extend via rubber line would work nicely.

i'll probably try the rubber hose trick for now and see how that work, im tryin to get the car running so i can take it to the track a couple of times before i leave for boot camp in two months:OT: but thanx for the help guys
