Ok, I was just wondering if you absolutely have to buy the power steering cylinder drop bracket if you plan to install full length headers, I was going to get tri y headers. Of course my car is a 1970 mustang, so if anyone has a 70 stang and has had tri y headers installed I would like to hear from you about ur experiance.

I have a 69 stang which is the same design as the 70's. I didn't need to use a drop bracket on it I have around an inch and a half clearance with the power steering ram and the lowest tube from the headers. Haven't had a problem yet, I am running hooker comps though not tri y's.

Even with my drop bracket on my '69, I burned my fluid, ram and valve seals one time before I got smart and dimpled the header tube where it crossed the ram... It just barely touched but that was enough to cook the ram.
You can always assemble it without and then add it if you don't have clearance but it's cheap insurance I think.

Hey There

If you haven't bought one I have a new one I'd let go for $15.00 including shipping. I have one my 69 Mustang with full length headers. I ordered one
and they sent me 2 with my order. PM

If your interested.

Well even if my headers come close to my cylinder ram I am going to wrap the headers with this thick header wrap(1/8"). Of course I will wrap each header twice just to keep heat to a minimum and so I dont cook the ram or the spark plugs/wires. It also will keep the air in the engine compartment from getting hot(so it wont rob HP or Torque). I would advise that each of u that have headers to add header wrap. Also Spray it with HT silicone spray from summit racing so that it wont deteriorate.
