Had a guy at the shop do that to his '04 a few months ago. It looked , but the first trip he took where he went above 45mph his scoop flew off. He took some fiberglass and lined it to help hold it on. I went to grab a bite to eat with him one afternoon and when we were on the hw it looked like his entire hood was going to take off Like I said it looked amazing with the grill delete and chin spoiler he had, but I wouldnt do it to mine.

What I was thinking of doing is getting just a flat type piece of black plastic. If needed, paint it a flat black to match the chin spoiler/grill delete, then remove the honeycomb crap and replace it with the smooth piece. Im not sure how I would mount it as of yet, maybe run a bead of black caulking (sp) around it once in place.

Just a thought of mine. Im about tired of the honeycomb dumping water on my hood hours after Im done drying it.

Well, I've tested above 100MPH now. 125 and the scoop held just fine. The thin is, there should be no pressure on the scoop since I made a real tight fit around the metal pipes coming through the honeycomb. The pipes we originally exaust extensions that I pounded into shape. The I hooked up the flexible tubing.

There probably is some HP gain but I suspect minimal. This was more for fun and looks.

I'm likely going to add power next similar to my custom GT as in the sig. BTW if you haven't checked out Induction Concepts Turbo's give it a try. Amazing power.
