Functional Quarter Window Scoops!

thats what is so great about being unique. some love your ideas and some dont, no matter what "it" really is.

the craftsmanship is top notch, even more so when you consider that he does not do this for a living.

for everyone that says "it would be better if....", hindsight is always 20/20. once the part is complete, it is easy to say this would be better like this or that. it is hard to imagine what something is going to look like when nobody has ever made one, and that is the challenge facing someone in this situation.

Very true.
But it is also what helps us improve on past performance.
I personally welcome others hindsighted viewpoint, as I cannot think of everything myself, and it is only from their input that I can make the greatest gains.

One thing I considered when deciding on whether or not to paint the insides was the fact that it would be difficult to spray the base and clearcoats way up in there and achieving the happy shine. I also figured doing it the way I did would maybe give them a more modern look.

No, I completely understand your point, I also hate fake crap stuck on the outside of a car. I admire your work, and your effort. It's a beautiful piece, and I would put it on my car if it were available for sale. I guess that I meant that I didn't understand the point of making them. I'd love to have something like that, and wish I could do it myself. I guess that I just envy your time/motivation/innovation.

But I do love your piece.... I think it looks great!

But you do see the point for phony BS stick on scoops? If you read my original post you would see that I said I like the scoop look, but hate the fake junk that's available. I'll probably never open the vents myself, but at least they are real. That's the point.

Those are hands down THE coolest hand made mod I've seen for the S197. OUTSTANDING!!!!!!! I totally understand not wanting to get into selling these but could I talk you into selling some plans? Surely you had something written down? A couple of measurements and a sketch on a napkin maybe? I'd be willing to pay for that. :nice:
