Funky oil pressure??

So over the past three years i've owned my stang the oil pressure gauge normally always sat right between the M and the A or normal. Lately though in the mornings when i start it has been as low as the O of normal, and will gradually go up but not until like 20 minutes later. Could this be a sign of my motor slowly going? its only got 79K miles on her. Or what? any help is always appreciated.

I would say its a sign of a factory oil pressure gauge not being acurate. Before i assumed the worse i would get a mechanical gauge on it and see what your oil pressure really is.

I agree. It can be a sticky sending unit. Grab a real gauge so you know what's going on.

It's funny - the SN guages are more useless than the fox gauges.

My stock gauge recently started reading at the OR but my aftermarket one reads normal so I didnt pay it any mind.

Two months ago my gauge read right in the middle of R and M for only one day, now its to the left on the N. I'm putting a new sending unit in tomorrow, if figure its just about had it.

There's a reason why it's called the oil pressure sending SWITCH. It has two levels: Off and On. There's no pressure reading whatsoever.

Update: new sending unit in, dummy gauge is way over on the "A" now. Damn, that things was PITA to get out
