I was thinking about buying a g-tech pro, and was wondering if anyone has one and could tell me if its worth the money, or is the the thing worthless.
Pretty much want it for hp ratings before and after mods.

I went to the track once with my Competition but I wasn't able to get weighed even though they told me over the phone that their weigh station would be open. I don't remember how accurate it was as I wrote it down on my timeslips but I can't find them right now.

Anyways, the software is cool because it logs your RPMs and shift points so you can see what you did on the run. When I'm racing, I don't really pay -too- much attention to when I shift and after the run I forget. So it's nice that it logs all that great info.

I'm not sure if it was totally set up properly either. There is a rollout setting that I'm not sure what it should be. But, I think the logging is just damn cool. Also, I DO NOT have an abandoned road or whatever to do 6 back to back runs in opposite directions on a flat road. So I haven't used it in a while. Last time was at the drag strip.

comp is pretty accurate, pro model is ok though.
Pro model absolutely sucks. But it's because it leaves so much open to user error (zero-ing it).

It's too hard to consistantly set it to 0 G's and if you take it off, the next time you put it on will be totally different than the following time. Even if you leave it on, there's little chance of consistancy because it was too hard to zero.

I really like my Gtech Comp, I also still have the old Gtech Pro. The Gtech comp is very accurate, with times and speed differentiating only +/ - .005 to .01 in comparison to time/speed at my local track.
The Gtech pro is out +2to3 mph and .1 to .2 seconds out.
I find the Gtech Comp. invaluable, when it comes to testing mods [what works, what doesn't] and also in finding out ideal shift points and launching. I've used the old Varicom[cost me $1300 bucks 7 years ago] for years when I was snowmobile racing, and I find the Gtech to be much better.
