Garage floor epoxies/paints??

Hey everyone, with spring finally hitting Ohio, I am starting to fix up the stangs house. I am thinking of using the Rust-Oleum epoxy paint for my garage floor (grey with the multicolored blue flecks). Any of you guys use that? I have tried the Sherwin Williams concrete stain and it holds up pretty well, but want to try something new. Anyone install floor tile or even the interlocking stuff like RaceDeck? Any opinions/options for garage floors would be appreciated.

I helped a buddy of mine do the U-Coat-It floor. OMG, its by far the best finish I've ever seen period. It's makes the garage's on TV look boring. It's hefty though at $595 for a two car garage.

DAMN!! I have a 3-car garage...Guess that would cost me $900. Guess I can just do the area where I park the stang!

Whatever you use, make sure there is a good bonder/primer for concrete before you paint.

Is that the stuff they installed in a garage on My Classic Car a while back? The fleck and mix all came in a five gallon bucket. That stuff looked great, and is what I was planning on going with (when I have a house).

What's wrong with the bare floor and kitty litter?

That Muscle Gloss stuff is pretty awsome. Looks like lenoleum flooring, but feels smoother. I think it runs about $500 for a 20X20' garage floor though

All those interlocking setups cost no less than $3 /sq.ft when it's all saif and done, which I think is a total rip.

In fact it is the same stuff. Without the fleck option you can save about $50 (comes in seperate baggy). I should have took pics of his floor. I was so impressed. It's got a glossy shine all the time. After spilling stuff all over the floor all that was needed was mop or wipey. After my car is finished I'm doing a remodel on my garage. Gonna put my air compressor in the attic and have retractable drop down hoses. Then the U-Coat-It floor. Moving all my lawn equipment and other stuff to a hidden shed out back. Basically gonna make into a service garage.

Anyone ever heard of putting down industrial type tile flooring? I see it on TV all the time where they have 1' x 1' white and black tile in a checkerboard pattern. I think it is on that Popular HotRodding show on Spike TV.

When you gonna removed the roof and make a second story, so you can put in a lift???

Id like to do that to my garage...but I also do a lot of woodworking (crown molding, builiding inside stuff), so my garage needs to double as a wood shop and mechanics area...Hard to do when wood produces so much saw dust. Im working on my office now, and I know it is not Mustang related, but Im gonna put some pics up when Im done so you guys can see that I do have some "craftsman" ability, just not so much with the car as with carpentry.

What a small world......I do a good bit a carpentry too in the garage. Actually, I've only been doing projects for a couple years working with my father-in-law. I'm slowly building up my tool collection, so that kind of get's in the way of stang stuff (see, this is stang related after all).

I've thought about reflooring the garage (2 car), but sure don't want to do it with a bad product. Good topic.

Why not just paint "the fence?" What would be a benifit to tile in a garage? I could see sealing it real good or something like that. Wouldn't the fluids still be able to get in the cracks and under tiles?

The 'benefit' would be the look. I've always wanted a 'showroom' look in my garage. I'm not that messy when it comes to spilling fluids and it doesn't rain much here in the desert. I'm talking about the tile floors you see in most department stores. It looks really durable.

A floor coating sounds like a good idea, I'm definitely interested in hearing anybody's experience with it. Unlike some people, I *do* spill something dang near everytime I work on my car . I usually just hose it down with carb cleaner and wipe it clean when I'm done (if the tree huggers knew, I'd get lynched I'm sure), but it still gets stains.

That crap with the flakes has a problem with the flakes coming off. They eventually wear loose.

Those epoxy floors are the best thing ever. I just put one in my garage the other day. It cost like $200 or $300 from home depot. It was really easy to put on, took a couple hours. I have spilt oil, coolant and everything you can imagine on it and it just wash right off. I have pics if you want to see what it looks like.
