Anyone used these in their engine compartment? They're chrome bolts with the Ford oval stamped into the head. Here's the Chevy bowtie version

The kit includes bolts for the intake manifold, valve covers, filler neck, timing cover, fuel pump, oil pan, distributor hold down, and manifolds.

I was thinking of buyings the set for my Dad for his birthday and wanted to know if anyone has them and how they like them. I'd also pobably get some extra ones for the fender bolts.

Could you show us a link of the ones with ford stamped on them?? I have never seen these bolts before but they look pretty cool.

Do your dad a big favor and get hime a good set of ARP stainless bolts. Its the best quality in the world, shine really well, and they won't rust after getting a nick from a wrench. I have a show car and shining up chrome bolts to prepare for a show would really just tick me off... there's just too many other things to worry about..

Wouldn't the stainless require more work to keep them at a high level of reflection/shine? I'm using stainless in mine and wanted to get him something that would be easier to keep clean. So the stainless has less maintenance than chrome?

Chrome will chip and crack with use, and even just over time. Stainless aren't plated, so it doesn't flake or get rust under it. Stainless can be buffed to mirror shine initially, then maintenance is just as easy as chrome. Plus they'll last longer.

Chrome plated fasteners are prone to hydrogen embrittlement (they will snap off at much lower torque settings) ARP makes very good fasteners. I use them in all my engines with no failures so far.
