Gas going up to $4.00+!? (Katrina)

gas prices suck... I'm glad I switched jobs 6 months ago. I drive 1.5 miles to work now as opposed to the 25 miles (one way) before. May get a damn moped.

Moped's are like fat chicks, it's OK to ride one every once in a while, but don't let your friends see you.

I just got this off CNN...

Meanwhile, Katrina's effect on oil supplies and gas prices spread nationwide. Katrina forced operators to close more than a tenth of the country's refining capacity and a quarter of its oil production, which sent gasoline prices surging and prompted the White House to tap the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve. But some analysts say that gas prices are still likely to climb to more than $4 a gallon.

In the area i live in, gas has risen to $2.99. Monday night i filled up, and it was $2.44 for 87. Tuesday night it was at $2.70, and Wednesday morning its at $2.99. This is crazy, i'm definatly going to start driving my dad's V6 stang. :nonono:

Sounds like most of you guys are getting off easier than up here in Michigan. Whoever made that comment about those States farther away not getting hit is DEAD wrong. It's $3.39 for the cheap crap and I have 2 friends that work at a gas station near by that is $.10 cheaper than all other gas stations and they are raising to $3.80 tomorrow, that means around $3.90 here in town. I filled up my Saturn that had 92 miles on this tank for $11. I wouldn't be surprised if people started getting crazy and bad stuff started happenin, ya know?

Well, we're at $2.99 for 87, so it's gone up .43 in two days, and there's a station down the street from my house that already closed the doors. I heard about the Atlanta thing on the news too. They are going to be fined heavily, just as a lot of places were after 9/11.
