So for the past few days i have been noticeing a strong smell or raw gas around my car. Today i noticed a small puddle underneath the filler neck to the gas tank. Under inspection i saw that the tank where the filler neck connects to it, is leaking. How does the filler neck connect to the tank? and what are some options on how to fix it. i was thinking some sort of gas resistant RTV, or gas tank repair stuff. Any ideas?

Agreed. I like to take a page from Justin's CT and use motor oil on the new one to help things slide together without tearing.
This is an item that is a rip no matter what - sometimes it's easiest to just go to the dealership to get one. The cost of the lost gas makes saving pennies on the grommet rather moot.
