What do you guys usually get to a 1/4 tank in your GT's? In my 00 GT I get around 150 miles. That's using 3/4 tank of gas. I don't really ever do any highway and its mostly just city driving to and from school and to friends house and wherever. I don't usually get on the freeway much unless I'm going to the beach or something. But I average around 14.5 mpg. The best I ever got which was with highway driving was 17mpg and the worst was 13.8mpg. I do get on it every once in a while though each tank of gas. I just can't help that . But I also drove like a grandma once and that's when I got 13.8. So I'm just wondering what kind of driving techniques you guys use or if I need a new fuel filter or something.

I used to get 320 or so a tank, lately I've been getting 240 YUCK! I'd be happy with 280 I'm not quite sure whats wrong, but I do mainly city driving and I only race vettes and other stangs (stuff that usually beats me, but more fun than racing mis-matched ricers) races are few and far between so thats not the gas issue.

How many miles does your car have? You might need a tune-up...plugs..clean your K&N...fuel filter. I avg 20 in the city and my best highway is 29.1 mpg.

I have gotten 280 ALL highway miles.
I have gotten 260 MOSTLY highway miles.
I have gotten 200 MOSTLY city miles.
Usually, when in the city, I shift into 2nd at about 25mph or 3500RPM and then into 3rd at about 40-45mph or 2500RPM. I then shift into 4th and occasionally 5th.
I have been getting about 17MPG in the city.

Well it has 69k miles. Maybe I do need new plugs and a new fuel filter but I wouldn't think so b/c I just got it from the dealer about a month ago and everything was new.

24 mpg @ 75 mph (hwy.) with all my mods. Not too sure about the city numbers here but I'm pretty sure that it's substantialy less than that!

I want to kick you all in the teeth.

You can't accuratly calculate MPG going by how many miles you have gone and where your gas guage is point to. The ONLY way to accuratly find MPG is divide the miles traveled by the EXACT number of gallons you used.

You can't just say...hmmm, I went 150 miles and my gas guage is pointing at 1/2 tank mark. That must mean I've used exactly 1/2 my tank, which is approx 7.5 gallons. So..I must have gotten 20mpg.

We all know that the gas gauge isn't accurate. For example, when my gauge points at 3/4 tank, I've usually gone approx 100 miles. Does that mean I'll be able to go 400 miles on the whole tank? No, because the gauge isn't accurate. I generally can go 100 miles on first 1/4, another 100 by 1/2 and then the 2nd 1/2 is another 40-70 miles.

ok...I'm done.

BTW...I average 19mpg (50% city/50% highway). Best mileage I've ever gotten was a highway trip...26mpg. Worst was my last fuel up after getting headers, Accufab plenum/tb and having my foot on the floor most of the time....16 mpg.

Somebody needs a drink.

That is how I figure my gas mileage. Most cars stay at the full mark forever then shoot to empty, there is no way to get an accurate reading by looking at the gauge.

I recently got 25-26mpg on a trip from NY to CA. With mixed driving (city and freeway+Los Angeles traffic) I get around 17 mpg.
