I am getting ready to replace my C4 trans with a brand spanking new T-5z. With the gas prices now, it got me thinking what kind of gas mileage I could expect to get. I am getting 13/15 MPG with the C4, 3.50 gears, and a warmed up 289. A lot of you have changed to OD; I would appreciate it if you could let me know what you get. Thanks,

I've got a 1990 5.0 in my '67 with a Performer intake and Edlbrock 600 cfm carb, T-5 and at the moment 2.79 rear gears. This is good for 23 mpg in the 60-65 mph range.

I used to get about 23-24 in my 66 coupe, with a 300 horse 302 and 3.70 gears.

you can expect ~25-30% increase if your ez on it although it will be much more fun to punch it in 1st, 2nd & 3rd.

I am glad to here such high numbers. I know the way I drive I wouldn't get that kind of mileage . Then again I am getting older maybe it's time I slowed down JK. Thanks,

Throw in a 70 gas tank and you can go possibly 400-500 miles on 1 tank.
