Well the ranger is getting old and I don't need a truck. I was looking fox body mustangs but for a thousand more I can a nice SN95 with a 4.6L. I got out of the mustang thing for a while but I'd love to get one again. Now I see you guys can get around 18-20 MPG city which is really weird that you can get that much. I drive mostly main roads and I can get 20MPG now with the ranger so I guess I could probably pull out 25ish driving main roads as I use mostly 5th gear. So I was wondering what you guys thought about this. Maybe anyone on here with a ranger that has a msutang that could compare for me. I was going to get a little 4 banger but I'd like to have some power. Filling up my ragner takes over $80 so I'm looking to spend less on gas.

Driving hard and including several passes at the track my lowest is 18. Driving 1/2 interstate and 1/2 country roads all in 5th my best is 27. I was searching for a Celica to get 30mpg, but by the time you add the extra cost of the vehicle (got a steal on my Mystic) it would have taken about 8 years to make up the difference in gas.

yeah I'm really looking to get a car as I don't need a pick up truck. But although I wanted to get a small economical car I also want power so I figure if I can get at least 25 MPG then I'm still doing pretty good. I'm sure with the new power I won't have to use really any gas and I'll get close to that. Sure 5MPG better would be nice but having trouble maintaining 65 isn't what I want either.

The problem is not using the power. If you start rollingo n the gas hard to pass cars on the freeway, your economy goes down.

I've gotten a personal best of 27MPG...but then there have been days on the highway where I started with half a tank, drove ten miles and got off the highway with less than half a tank....if you know what I mean.

Conservative driving in city - with occasional open throttle for passing - 21.5 MPG. Conservative highway driving - with occasional WOT/nitro spray 25.5 MPG

See I actually have started to calm down even more. I'm 20 now, soon to be 21. I've gotten the whole speed thing out of my system. I can actually drive pretty normal now. Of course I'll do a few WOT's every so often but for the most part I'm looking for a car I'm comfortable in and has the power I'm looking for.

I use to drive like a bat out of hell, I remember when I first started to drive. They say you feel invincible but its more that you don't understand what would happen if you hit someone, got a ticket, ext. I've gotten on ticket and I hit one person. So I've been stupid ( i wasn't messing around either of those times) and I've done the burn outs, the donuts, sped where you should have. I know whats going to happen and I'm willing to chance it anymore.
