I really wanted to do this on my car... but isnt this dangerous cause wouldnt you be over extending the throttle cable and be at risk of breaking it? has anyone else done this?

thanks !!!

It is possible to do that. Some guys make a block for under the pedal to keep if from streching the cable.

I set mine up so lite pressure on the brake pedal makes the height of the gas pedal the same, not higher.

I did it and you can tell where the bottom of the pedal is, you don't need alot of force on the pedal, because it is raised. I would definetly reccomend it.

I did this but didn't go crazy with the spacer size. I made it just large enough to take up almost all of the slack. Probably about 3/4". After multiple track visits I haven't experianced any breakage, etc.

Check out this for some additional info on creating a stop for it:

Mine has been fine for about a year now. The only thing you need to remember is to keep checking it to make sure it hasn't slipped. My biggest problem was getting my hands up there to tighten the clamps. Driving it afterwards will take some getting used to, because there is ZERO give on the throttle.

Yeah, if set up correctly there won't be any problems. Give it a shot!

I wish the dyno operator knew that when I took my car in for a dyno run. For some reason, he thought it took all 250+ pounds of force to floor the pedal. He cracked the barrel spacer so I had to make a new one.

I hear that our cars have throttle stops to prevent from damaging the trottle body... so i guess that leaves the pedal and the cable... thanks for your help guys!
