Gas pedal sticking???

Just drove 500 miles from MD to MA... and about 50 miles from home my gas pedal began to stick. It takes a lot more pressure to get the gas to respond now and 95% I end up giving it TOO much throttle since once it unsticks, the extra pressure = more throttle. It's 5am so I haven't been able to try things but I figure you guys may have idea's on what is up. I installed an Accufab 75mm throttle body last week but I drove 900 miles before this throttle sticking occurred.

What a worthless suggestion.

If your throttle cable is sticking first check the throttle body is operating freely.
Then get down in the foot well and inspect the pivot point to see if it moves freely then move the cable in and out by hand, it should move freely. If it dosen't move freely try lubricating the cable (pita) also check to see if the main engine ground is attached and making electrical contact.
I have seen 3 cars burnt to the ground because the ground wire was bad or not installed and the current was flowing through the throttle cable to ground. This will cause sticking and can lead to total failure or fire.

The sticking has nothing to do with your throttle cable. The problem is with the throttle body. If it is sticking at initial throttle tip-in, you need to adjust
the small set screw on the throttle body that controls the stop point of the blade at closed position. Turn this just enough so that it doesn't stick every time the throttle is closed. You shouldn't have to advance it enough that it will affect your idle.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll go out and give them a try later today. Why did it start happening for no apparent reason? I was cruising on the highway for hours and then suddenly it was sticking (hit a toll and noticed it was sticking).

So where exactly is it sticking? The first inch of travel when you're not on the pedal, or throughout the entire range of travel?

It sticks at rest. When I touch the pedal there is resistance.

So if it's only when you first crack the throttle open, I agree with what bennyjammin says. I have a crappy MAC 70mm TB (I don't use it) that sticks if you let it close far enough.

Hopefully I'll get out to the car tonight (at school now ) and try that... but why would it suddenly start happening? I drove for ~1000 miles with the new tb before it started.

I turned that idle screw a tad and now it doesn't stick. Plus, I think my funky idle drop problem is gone so far.
