Is there still an issue with the gas pump shutting off before the car's tank is full?

I had that problem for about the first six months I owned my '07, but I can't recall having that problem for a year or so.

I'm aware of the TSB on the issue and of a "cure" by rotating the nozzle from the normal position, feeding the gas in slowly, etc.

I'm curious as to whether people who had the problem still have it.

Does anyone know whether gas stations have modified the pump hose pressure return or made other changes?

When I fill my '05, I have to pull the nozzle out farther than normal and feed at the lowest setting for my tank to fill-up completely. I was kind of wondering the same thing that you asked about increased pump hose pressures. It seems like all the gas stations I go to anymore, the triggers are harder to pull and the gas comes out faster than I remember.

I seem to remember the solution was a new gas tank at least for the '05s. I'm not sure about the other models. My '07 has an occasional problem. There are a couple nozzles around here that just don't like my car so I just pull up to the one next to it.

I had a 2005 and had the tank replaced. It still did it once in awhile. I have a 2007 now and it sometimes does it.
I have no idea if Ford will replace the tank on the 2007. I haven't asked since replacement did not completely solve the problem on my 2005.

Mine does it

My 07 has allways done it. It will allow me to run the pump wide open for about 10 gallons, then it cuts off. I have to go very slowly to compleate filling the tank, and it made no real difference how I held the pump handle. Its really the only problem I have had in over 30.000 miles so I will live with it I guess. I just dont trust the Ford dealer to fix it.
