GAS TANK LEAK

DOES ANY OF YOU KNOW IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE 94-98 BODY STYLE HAVING GAS LEAKS? MINE JUST HAD A LEAK THE OTHER DAY AND IT CAME OUT OF NOWHERE. I FILLED IT UP PARKED IT ON BASE TO LEAVE IT FOR THE WEEKEND CAUSE I WAS GOING OUT OF TOWN AND THEN GET A CALL SAYING MY CAR HAS BEEN TOWED BECAUSE I HAD A SERIOUS CLASS 3 LEAK. THEY HAD TO CALL THE DANG FIRE DEPARTMENT. IF THIS IS PROBLEM THAT OTHERS HAVE HAD WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO FIX IT? THANKS FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS.

Where was the leak coming from? Did you recently install a fuel pump or fuel filter?

I had that problem!!!!! It was the gasket from the filler neck to the gas tank. Had to go to ford to get a new one .btw it was my 98 gt

That was my problem also but it was after I installed a fuel pump. Sometimes the gasket dries up. If the leak is coming from the pipe on the right side of the fuel tank there's a good chance that's what it is.

There was a recall in the 98 GT's for a Gas Tank Gasket Leak. it was posted by Consumer Reports.

I busted my the filler neck seal when I changed my fuel pump. It was more like gushing out all over the tailpipe every I would turn to the left.
