Gasket Dressing...

I am hoping to install my headers this evening. I was just trying to figure out if I should use gasket dressing on the gasket or not. I am talking about the blue permatex stuff it has a name that starts with an "H". IT says for exhaust manifold gaskets on it. SHould I use this or install the gaskets dry?

If you have the stock-type gaskets with metal layers, then you should be fine installing dry. Some people recommend soaking them in water so they expand and then installing them, but I've found that unnecessary. The only reason I've blown header gaskets was because the bolts loosened on some cheap headers.

i use the orange around the ports since most headers arent really true and the gasket will only take up so much of a gap.
