gatorback belt??

whats the pros and cons of the "gatorback" belts?? i juss saw that these exist, i dont know nothing bout them, what brand makes them and what do u guys think about them??

I have had one for over a year. You know when you get on it and then let off and the belt squeals real bad and everyone points and laughs? well the Gator belt will prevent that

I am not aware of any "cons".

I had one on my car, just to try it. No complaints. I saw no belt slip w/ it, but I didn't see any w/ a gates belt either.

They're made by goodyear.

I put one on my truck over 2 yrs ago....The previous no name belt lasted 6 months before squealing....gatorback took care of that problem....the stang will definitely get one when the time comes!!!

I have a Gates belt as Goodyear doesn't make a Gatorback belt for teh length I need.

does auto-zone or pep boys or kragen carry them?? last time i asked somewhere i 4got where and told me they only carried the regular type

Yup, Autozone has them. I'm sure another large auto parts retailer will carry them, if AZ is not around you. Give them a call first to save a dry trip.

BTW, once you get one you can pretend you have a S/C like me . The gatorback makes a beauitful whistle/whine when revving and driving

Its a good idea to keep the old belt in with the spare, and a belt change tool also. Especially if you have the cheesey water pump pully design like me where the belt can easily slip off when splashed with water.

Good call. Keep it in the trunk where the spare is located, even. You never know...
