Do these just pop off with a little pressure? I figured i would ask before i was a bull in a china shop and ruined my cluster.

I need to pop off my gas gauge needle and reset it so if these pop off easily that makes my day easier...if not then i will throw it off the roof

I've heard they're hard to get back in the right position. Thats why when I put on white face gauges this winter I'm going with one that fits over the needles.

I went with UPR overlays that fit over the needles and still am having issues. The area cut out for the needle to slide into it tight and doesn't give the needle enough room to operate freely...i even shaved the opening some and my gas needle still gets hung up. I took the overlay off and sanded the opening with my dremel some more so hopefully that works.

I wish they made the entire cluster replacement for 96-98 like the 99-04's

Mustangs Unlimited has 2 types that don't require needle removal, both white face. One is the one that has green or blue backlight and the other has the silver gauge backlight. I think I'm going with the silver.

I'll keep your problem in mind when I do mine. I would love to have the cluster but at over $400 its too much for me.
