so basically there is nothing that is street legal that i can do to get rid of these crappy stock gauges? no odo or CEL for that cluster or any lights at all. so basically im stuck. is there anything i can do to get my stock ones to work better? now with the charger the tach is jumpy as hell, any ideas? how/ where does the tach get its signal?

Dakota digital will make you a nice digital setup if you send them your stock cluster. Pretty pricy though. REALLY EXPENSIVE.
Anyhow, the tach signal is from the EDIS module or the other location
Tach - EDIS module is located on passenger side of motor below air intake. It has a 12-pin plug on it. The wire is gray with an orange stripe or dk. grn. Get a VOM, set it to AC, test the wire. Start the car, and rev it slowly while watching the meter. You should see a voltage change at different RPMs.
Or I think you can get it from the coil Tan with a yellow stripe I think.
Or pin #4 on the ECM. White with pink stripe I think.
Or I think there is a green wire behind the cluster that goes to the factory tach. Never tried that, but I hear it works well also.
Street legal? The Florida50 stuff is as a matter of fact. The automoter guages are the some of the most accurate guages on the market. I will get that kit in the future its the best looking i have seen and the digial ones ive seen look knight rider-ish. EEEEWWW
