i have a 91lx and i am putting my boost guage in and my question is where did u guys get the illumination wire. ive read on turboford that some took it off the radio but i would rather just get it off the guages. i would rather not pull the cluster so does anyone know which fuse it is so i can get the wire or what color it is so i can track it down. i have a haynes book and it says the fuse is #13 but can anyone confirm.

The same circuit that feeds the gauge panel lights feeds the factory radio light. You could probably grab it from the panel dimmer. Just check to make sure you're pulling it from the side of the switch that dims.

You could take it directly off the headlight switch....that may not be the easiest way to do it though, due to having to route the wire back under the dash and everything.

i debated putting one in mine, (i did install one) Aside from telling you whether its in open or closed loop mode, the guage doesnt really do much, it jumps around so much you cant make a good judgement of the mixture, and they are calibrated for a N/A car anyway. Basically if the lights bounce around, then your system is working properly. Thats about all it tells you.

the Signal is wired to Pin 29 on the LA series computers, I would make the connection near the computer, and not outside in the engine bay. The more connections you have out there the more chance of corrosion and shorts you have. I just spiced into pin 29, and got my power and ground from behind the radio.

i may be wrong i think i was looking at it upsde down. i searched the archives at turboford and found a lot of info on the pin 49 wire that stinger says to ground to the computer ground post. everyone says to ground it on the compressor. is the computer ground post not accurate will it cause it to run closed loop all the time
