i just finished installing autometer gauges... ran into a few probs..

1. oil pressure is reading over 100, like the needle is pinned all the way to the right

2. water temp, not too sure if i should replace the stock one (i think there it two) or drill the thermostat housing...

any help?

I'm pretty sure that your oil pressure should be around 75psi while
driving and 25 at idle, at least that's what mine are. 100 sounds a
little high. I am assumming that you have a a-pilllar gauge cluster.
I was able to keep all the factory gauges working by having an
adaptor installed. I had a performance shop do the install. I've
heard horror stories of trying to do the install yourself if your not
sure what you are doing. Have a speed shop do it for you and do
it right. Good luck.

I used the drain plug on the drivers side of the block for the water temp. Think I had to buy an adapter from autometer, but it worked like a charm.

As for oil temp, mine runs pretty high when the car is cold, but after it warms up, it stays at 25-30 @ idle, 60-80 on the highway depending on RPM's.

where did you put the water temp sender?? i really need help.

there is a brass plug on the drivers side of the engine block, above the oil pan. If you put the front end on stands and get under there, you will see it. Cant miss it. ther eis an adaptor you will need from autometer. dont remember the size, but i know it is blue aluminum, so you can match it to the picture on their site.

ya i heard other suggestions of drilling out the thermo housing.. i dont like that idea.. ill see if i can get that adaptor for the freeze plug.. and as for the oil, it did come with an adaptor but i was under the impression if was for fuel pressure, i havent given much of a chance to warm up tho... dont get it insured until today

anyone know of the link for that adaptor for the temp sensor?
