Right now I am running my stock tach/speedo with the rest autometer. I have had problems with the speedo since I had the car, it was way off. I swapped in the correct gear for the speedo and it somwhat fixed the problem. Now the speedo jumps around a lot. It bounces up and down about 20km/h....or 15 mph. Is this a speedo cable issue?

I don't get them much anymore but I remember in some of the Stang magazines there was a company selling in dash gauge holders with autometer speedo/tach and the like. It was a direct replacement for the factory gauge pod. Does anyone know if you can still get this, or could I make this piece myself?

sounds like the stock gauge is an issue more then the cable to me. have you checked the speedo gear in the transmisson itself? when they wear the speedo can jump around.

the factory replacement clusters are still available. www.florida50.com is the main place that sells them, pre-wired, assembled, ect. i think i am one of few on this site who has them, so ill post the pic i have with them first installed.

car is much cleaner now

ya that really does look fantastic. I was just worried about ordering somthing out of the back of a magazine to be honest. So have there been any troubles with it? Was it easy to install? It comes with your choice of gauges and you can get it empty right?

they are expensive, and yea you can get them empty.

it is really simple to install. it comes pre-wired, and with some wire-tap connectors. plus diagram's and color codes for what splices into where. i downloaded a guide online of the wires, and then compared the color's to their directions if that makes sense.

all wires went smoothly, and according to the diagram. i made one mistake wiring and my alt didnt charge, but other then that no issues. i could install one in probably an hour or two now.

the one i got was $480, the only one listed on their site. the stock replacement with 6 gauges is 500 something. i looked at them for along time before i finally spent the money for one. just got sick of the fake white faced stock gauges and the innaccuracy of them.

ohya, they look sharp. I am trying to think what 480 is in Canadian, I guess I am looking at about 700 by the time duty and everything pins me to the wall. I was thinking of just ordering the cage and adding what i already have to it, but i am guessing it doesn't come wired then.
