A couple of questions for the experts.

2002 GT 5 speed, stock except for exhaust (flowmaster)...

What is the recommended rear end ratio for a GT. This car is mainly used as a daily driver, but I am looking for a perfomance improvement.

What is involved with changing the gears? I priced the gear set at $140.00 or so. About $300.00 for installation and setup, and then they said I would need a control box of some sort to re-calibrate the speedo at a cost including installation of around $300.00. Does this sound accurate, and if so, for those of you who have changed rear-end ratios, was it worth the cost?

4.10s if you're not going to s/c...the install sounds middle of the road, but not a rip off. But that's in MA where everyhting is a rip off.

are you planning on adding nitrous or supercharger , if so , go with 3.73s , if you are staying all motor , go with 4.10s , get the gears and get them installed and then go here to order your own speed cal to adjust your speedometer . www.dallasmustang.com

And definately worth every penny - I paid about $420 total for my 3.73s. I was quoted $400, but he snuck the fluids in there at the end - Royal Purple (the good stuff!) and Friction Modifier.
Very happy with them. Made all the difference in the world. The car feels like it went on a 750 lb diet. No other mod (sans a S/C) will give you this kind of SOTP performance gain.
