Does it look good to you? I had no original shims to reference so I had to employ some questionable techniques to measure pinion depth. Backlash is set pretty tight (right around 7-8 thousandths) which may account for the large contact area. Mostly I just want to make sure the pinion depth is good. Give me your opinions please!

I'm not a gear expert by any means, so take this just as an opinion and not fact.
The backlash is a little on the tight side. Around .009 is the sweet spot, .007-.008 is probaly THE limit it should be at.
I'll try to dig up a pic I had of ideal contact marks for the pinion depth. It looks like its pretty even to me though.

Those marks seem a little to far to the inside, I would add shims. Also your backlash range is .008-.015 and yes 9is is best due to heat expansion. Also you carrier side to side lash should be 0.00 and you pinion pre-load should be 8-14inlbs for used bearings and 16-29inlbs for new bearings. With all of these numbers in range and you tooth contact pattern move a little more towards the center you will have a well built setup.

You should clean it off anyway to re-check everything once you make your adjustments.
It will probaly come right off with a quick shot of brake cleaner.
