I drove a buddies 94 mustang and i found a difference in the gearing. but does someone know if the gearing is different.? I liked the 94 gearing better than when i test drove the 05. the 1st gear in the 94 seems longer than the 05. thanks

Are you talking about the tranny or the rear-end gear? If you are talking rear-end then there really isnt any way to know for sure what he had in the 94 unless it was stock and even then we need the tranny type to know for sure what he is running. Are you comparing auto to auto or stick to stick?

first gear may be longer, most of this is due to the tranny gearing. It may be longer, but yours will accel alot quicker.

Just curious..... with those 4.10's, do you ever take off in second from a dead stop? When I first bought the car, I found first to be really short and started taking off in second, but didnt like the slight "lug" that I got.

In really bad rain, yes. Daily, no. Not that it can't be done, I just love to hear the engine & exhaust go through the gears. But with 4.10's, there's no problem starting out in 2nd... just no fun.
