then you go get some speaker boxes made that look like nos bottles so you car really screams.

I've got a 3.73 in my 99 2V and i wish i had gone with a larger gear (3.90 or 4.10). Yes you’re going to shift faster, THATS THE POINT! There is only one way that a larger gear will hurt you and that’s if you have junk tires. You’re going to have a harder time getting traction the larger gear you get, that’s pure physics. So if you’re having a harder time getting a good lunch off the line and are spinning hard then do one of three things. One, lower the pressure in your tires, 35psi is great for everyday street driving when your not going to need traction but at the track go down to 25psi. This will put more tire on the pavement and give you better traction, any less then that on radials and your asking for trouble. Two, don’t lunch so hard; if you were dropping the clutch or flashing the trans at 3500rps before your gear then try 2500rpm; I know that that’s seams low but you will see big improvements in you 60 foot. You have got to feel it out; you should not be spinning more then six or seven times if you known how to drive your car. Three, get slicks, there is almost no way in hell that slicks can hurt your times (they can hurt your rear end however). You will be able to lunch much harder with slicks; you do have to give them a really good burn out to get them good and sticky. If you don't have line-locks then don't even try it your not going to get the full effect of the slicks and your just doing to waste money on good tires. Line-locks are like 90 bucks and hot bad to install so just spend the money (plus you can do burn out for as longggg as you want).
The bottom line is that if gears and slicks were not good then people would not use them. How many 9 or 8 second cars do you see with radials or with a 3.27 gear? My point exactly.
