gears for 05 and up only ?

what is the difference in the rear end gears for the new mustang.
gear sets on ebay of motive gears shows gears for 86-04 and for 28 spline
i know the 05+ are 31 spline axles but how would that change the ring gear thanks for any help

The number of axle splines has nothing do to with the ring and pinion itself!
The only difference I know from our('05+)rear ends(besides being 31 spline stock)and the prior ones is that we have clutch packs made of a different material which is mostly the culprit of the noises.
