Also, I'm about to order a TrueTrac.

I had the same question when I bought my motive's. I actually talked to my mechanic and to Scrming about it. Both said the motives are just fine, as long as they are installed properly.
My mechanic said the Motives are just as good as FR, and said the problem is some people do not know how to install them and it causes a whine noise when in use.
Hope this helps.

$250-$300 is about the topps you want to pay
also get a richmond gear install kit. any time you change the rear gears you MUST use an install kit. otherwise it makes it harder to setup the rear correctly and why reuse the old bearings when the rear is apart anyways? also reusing the old bearings regardless of miles on them can cause a weaker setup. be sure to break-in the new bearings properly by driving short 20 minute runs at about 50mph then let the rear cool down. repeat this for at least 200 miles. this will ensure the new bearings seat properly without overheating. the new bearings are usually tight and can be ruined if overheated before broken in and will cause slop in the rear making a weak setup.
the richmond gear part# from www.summitracing.com is RMG-8310451 and is about $100. it is a required part that cannot be skipped
motive gears are like richmond gears. they are alittle harder material than ford egars and can whine alittle even setup correctly. they are quite strong and will be fine for your car.
cobra232 said:also forgot to mention contacting TA performance to see if their 7.5 girdle would work on your 05 stang.
not sure if it will clear the panhard
here is a link to TA

TA part# TA 1805
also the addition of the TA bearing cap stud kit would be wise even if the girdle can't be used
it is part# TA 1816. if you do everything right and use the detroit and can fit a girdle on, that 7.5 will never let you down at just about any power level you will ever see

not sure of 1/4 times yet i haven't ran the new combo yet. it is still in the works
original setup went 13.87@101 with a stock engine and procharger with only 226rwhp. i should be in the mid to low 12's when it is done
here is my first dyno chart. the only mods were 1.8 rockers and duals with 3.73 R&P. i was running stock injectors with a procharger FMU turned in as rich as i could get it

here is a pic of my idea of an EFI spyder intake. this pic is an old Weiand Xellerator buick V6 intake with a 2.3 ford upper intake on it. i have a ford 2bbl carb intake that i am modifying to enlarger the runners and raise the pad up 3". i will probably go with a 4.6L plenum elbow and T-body now that i am into the project but the 2.3 Upper has more volume so who knows. i don't have any pics of it yet and it looks like hell right now anyways. it's gonna take me awhile to finish it. i just don't have the time
