if you just want to correct your speedo dont go to the expense of buying an xcal 2 for that reason alone. if thats all you want to do get a speedcal from dallas mustang.

I have the Predator and it corrected mine. The Speedcals are about $90. If you shop around you can find the Predators for about $325. Plus this gives you an excuse to buy a programmer. I have to get permission for my stuff from the Boss(wife).

You could just order the gear you need. I ordered mine from here:

it really depends on what you want to do and how much you're willing to spend. if you can get a programmer then theres nothing stopping you. but if all you wanna do is correct that speedo, nothing is more accurate than a speedcal. when i got my gears installed i couldn't really fork over $100 for a speedcal so i just got a speedo gear to keep the speedometer a little accurate until i picked up a speedcal.

Guys he has a 96GT. He cannot correct the speedo with an Xcal2 or a predator since he has a mechanical speedo only 99+ cars with electric speedo can use the xcal2 or other handheld programmers. His only option is a Dallas mustang speedcal or a speedo gear.

I was reading through this and was wondering when someone was going to pick up on this!! Good job trueblue! I want to change mine in the near future but I thought I could only use the gear. First off where do you install the little gear? Also how does the speedcal work and where do you hook it up? Thanks
