Genuine T45 ID tag?

What are your opinions on this ID tag? Factory tag? Thanks!

Looks real to me. What are your concerns?

Pulling up other T-45's for sale, the tags all appear to be similar in construction/stamping

While i don't have a photo, i recall making the same statement when I found my T45 tag. Compared to the tags i have on the various T5 transmission i've rebuilt over the year, you are right with your comment about being homemade in appearance.

Just what I thought. All characters in line, dashes between the numbers and the correct machine font. A real tag. Mine has the AA's mis-aligned and the stamping font is just like the stamps you get at HF. Question is why so different? Is a transmission worth that much less without a tag? Or can you get a 100 bucks more with a tag?

It could have been made up to replace the original that broke off during a repair.

Personally I prefer the original tag still there (even though they can be moved from trans to trans) as it "should" give an indication of the type of trans you are looking at - what variant, what gear combo, etc. If the plan is to fully rebuild or upgrade then it really doesn't matter.

As far as price, sure, if no tag I would want to pay less.
