Hey i have a 1994 Gt with the following
Gt40p heads
trickflow intake
full exhaust
Trickflow stg 1 cam
CAI
U/d pullies

I'm looking to get a tune to regain some driveability ( Its a auto, stubbles going into drive and idle sometimes, thinking its the cam ). Other than idle type issues the car runs decent for the mods.

I'm looking for suggestions locally to me that you may have experience with
Located in Southern California , 91fwy and the I-15.

If they can get more power thats great, I'm more looking for a "cheaper" make everything work together tune !

Any suggestions?

Well if you really want to go cheap and you are a betting man, get a mail order chip. this should fix MOST of these problems... I think they are in the $250-$300 range (never looked just based on what I think others have posted)...

If you want to have ALL of your issues taken care of get a good dyno tune. Going rate out here is $500 and that will get you drivability, a guaranteed safe tune, and more power, plus knowing what power you made... overlal a great choice.

Then there are a number of self tuning packages out there... The Tweecer is one of them and that can be had baseline for under $400 for a non R/T version to about $400-450 shipped for a used R/T.... Then add a wideband for another $200 or so and you can do a great tune over and over...

The disadvantage to the first two is that you are paying for a tune for one particualr point in time on your car. Add a new MAF, TB, FPR, etc and you essentially have no tune anymore. The last option allows you to continually update it. I am currently saving for the Tweecer R/T and WB so that I can tune my car to run on 87 octane, tune for mileage, turn off my non-working EGR, up my idle rpm so the underdrive pulleys are still cahrging, lower my fan temps, etc...

There are a LOT of things you can do once inside the computer with any of these, the downside is that if you forget to mention some of these to the guy doing the chip or dyno tune you just lost your opportunity...

Just my thoughts, take them for what they are worth....

If you would even remotely consider using a Tweecer to self tune :)

The thing about the Tweecer that makes it really special is the ability
to look at data

You first look at the data as the car is currently configured and use it
as a baseline which enables you to plainly see problem areas :nice:

You make your tweecs and use the newest data to confirm your
tweecs have been effective ;)

I just described in a nutshell how you tune for stock like drivability :D

With the basic Tweecer (non RT) you can't do that :nono: :chair: :fuss:

The basic Tweecer is W O R T H L E S S ... IMHO :Word:

Hey man, im in Fontana, Im going in for a dyno tune tomorrow, with steve at powertrain dynamics in huntington beach...this is a smart guy and is known all over for his work...i paid 300.00 for my temp tune just to brake in my 331 and tomorrow he said it would be about an hour at 125.00 an hour, he said it shouldn't be more than 500.00 when it's all aid and done. There is a guy in san bernardino called ST motorsports and he's supposed to be pretty good but he was an a$$hole over the phone so he doesen't get my business even though hes only 15 minutes away and steve is an hour away :)

Steve has done all of my cars :nice: I was just there at the end of last week to get my "Smog" tune, I have a switch so I can toggle between tunes. He does a really nice job. He does not answer the phone so if you want to get a hold of him Email is best, he'll get back to you pretty quickly.
