I have some high mile 40p's and plan to get them worked. If i resurface the bottom of the head, do I need to compensate by shaving some off the lower intake to make sure everything lines up?

Also, when i put the p's on my stock shortblock, should I be using the gt40 rockers?

Can't wait to finish this little project!

If you are the original owner of the heads, you can "usually" mill them down up to .020" without alignment issues.
Normally having heads resurfaced takes .007", unless they are fubar to begin with and need a good wacking to make them flat.

IMO and many, many others in the interest of performance and tuning, going to a stud mount rocker is superior in design, valvetrain stability and adjustment over the pedistal style.

I'm just going to keep the rocker mounts that are on there, this is a budget build in every sense of the word. I don't want to do anything that isn't necessary/inexpensive. Thanks for the reply.

Basically all I need to figure out is what I need for springs(and the stuff that goes with them) and lifters. So if anyone can recommend something CHEAP please feel free! I'm a broke college kid with a small bank account!
