Hi guys,
As far as I know, my car still has the stock shocks and struts. If that's the case, I'm sure they are due for replacement seeing as my car has roughly 100k on it. I was planning on buying the Bullitt suspension kit but that's nearly $400 and I found a set of Bullitt shocks and struts with 2k miles on them for $100 so I'm going to grab those. Should be a nice improvement. My car rides a lot rougher than I'd like, but I'm sure a lot of that is due to the lowering springs and not just the old shocks & struts.
I also have a set of MM full-length subframe connectors on the way to stiffen up the car a bit and prevent chassis flex. I'm wondering if there's anything else I should go ahead and take care of while I'm replacing the shocks and struts. I'd love to get a set of MM LCA's but I just spent $800 on a new LCD monitor thanks to the girlfriend trashing my old one, so I don't have a ton of money to replace and upgrade everything. Around what mileage should ball joints be replaced? What about A-arms and/or tie rods?
Also, I was told a while back that if I'm replacing the shocks and struts that I should replace the springs also, because if my shocks and struts are worn out then the springs have been doing extra duty and may be tired also. Do you guys think I really need another set of springs? They came on the car so I don't know how long they've been on there, but I hate to "fix something that isn't broken" if you know what I mean.
Appreciate any replies!
