one thing i did not see anyone mention is if there is any type of silicone that was used previously or anywere around the paint. things like wd-40 can wreak havoc on paint. or pretty much any lubricant type areosol. with pics we could actually see if its orange peel or a dry type spray that the gun created. They kind of look the same but if it's that rough. I'm guessing its not orange peel, but more gun adjustment. I had this same problem my first shoot. Gun pressure was off. wetsanded that down. reshot with proper pressure and cleared over that. There was just some orange peel. minor that a wet sand and buff took care of.
