I am getting this coupe soon, it's a 2.3 but I plan on putting a 351 in it soon. Its only got 30,000 miles on it and is in perfect shape was a florida car. Here are some pics the guy took. Tell me what you guys think I was going to get a car that needed paint and stuff but I'm getting a pretty good deal so I just bought this instead.

That's gorgeous. I'd love to have that with a 5 speed for a DD.

Ya I'm going to have to use it as a DD except in the winter. I'd rather not use it as a DD after I put the 351 and 5 spd in but its my only car so I'm going to have to. I just found a 94' 351 roller for $300 that I think I'm going to build but I don't want to do too much because its got to be reliable. I'm trying to figure out exactly what I need to fit the 351 under the stock hood.

Be careful, I bought a site unseen "low mileage" clean Reef Blue hatch. The car looked great but was not what the pictures showed. Learned from that mistake. The car is a great car, still drive it today getting upper 20 mpg, but I paid a lot for it.

This guy is like 60 and he is delivering it without any money, and he said I didn't have to take it if it isn't exactly what he said it was. If he wasn't delivering it with no money I probably wouldn't do the deal.

Dang, its so stock The seats look so straight and clean, man, how do people buy cars and afford to just let them sit. Must be nice to have the extra money. Looks clean and unmolested from what I can see. Hope you find a good home for that 2.3 when you take it out.

I payed about 3 grand and I found the 351 cheap so I figured for a little over 4 grand I would have a real nice v8 coupe. Wouldn't it be like 10 grand at least for that car if it was an original v8 car?

Do you have a tranny, clutch, bell housing, shifter, DS, rear, etc... to make the V8 work? Those things can be found used cheap, but it does add up.

I am in high school and there is a guy that owns a junkyard and will sell anybody in vocational auto cheap parts just to help out and he has a bunch of mustang parts I can buy so I should be able to do it pretty cheap. I am getting that 351 cheap and my dad has a lightning tubular intake and saleen sc replicas that he'll give me so I'm good there. How much is the average price for a 30k v8 coupe?

6 years ago I nabbed my car with 30K on it for 5 grand. I'd imagine you'd pay a bit more than that today, maybe 8-10 grand for something really clean.

Looks like a really good score, but don't tear it apart until you KNOW you HAVE all the parts for a 351 swap. Have you been to the Tech section? There is a good thread inside the "Reference" sticky about 351 swaps. Keep in mind, that because it is a 2.3, you'll have your work cut out for you just getting the parts changed over to V8 standards.

Good luck, should be a sweet project.

Ya I have read a lot about the 351 swap and it looks like I need a oil pan, flywheel, balancer and swap headers. I am just trying to figure out how to fit the 351 under the stock hood with the tubular intake. It looks like I will need to at least get convertible motor mounts, and shave the intake some, best case scenario.
