i am about to order my trickflow main girdle (does not have to be machined) and canton oil pan would a alum windage tray be any good? or would it expand to much?

be real careful what you get
I don't know for sure what kind of windage tray my buddy used but it broke on him. He races stock cars, and he had one on his 406 and it broke and wrapped itself around the crank, taking out two pistons, the crank and cracked the block as well as destroying the oil pan.
Not only that, but when the crank locked up, it snapped his driveshaft and locked up his nine inch.
If it hadn't been for sponsor money he would have been done after that night. He had another motor and driveshaft but didn't have any gears. I know some of those dirt track guys have $800 or so wrapped up in gears and rear end housings with axles and stuff.
Just be real careful who you buy from and what kind it is.
