II am sure you were expecting this answer but it depends. It depends if you want to just dump a couple grand in the short block and build something like a 347 and not have any money to finish the long block, or spend minimal money on the short block so you have money to get a ncie set of heads and intake. With that kind of money I would spend like less than a grand on the short block, have it machined .30 over an use stock crank and rods, and change the pistons. Change all the bearings, and seals, and then spend the rest of the money on a nice set of aluminum heads, and get a used intake.
