Hi, I'm looking to get forged piston, maybe from DSS Racing or Probe. Any other suggestion?
I want to use nitrous, maybe 125hp shot or 150hp ...

I need forged piston, H or I beam, can I stick with stock crank ?
What else do I need ?

Thanks

Yes your crank is rated to 500RWHP from what I hear. Some pistons and rods would probbaly let you get away with a 175 shot pretty easily...just make sure if going over 150 that you run a direct port N20 setup. Even 150 wet shots have been known to backfire...so be careful.

I'm looking for Plate system... Anyone tried it ?
So with forged piston (incl. ring), stud and I or H beams, I should be good ?

Yes that should do it, although I would recommend a complete forged shortblock so you know the ring gap is correct and everything is put togethor correctly.

www.modularmustangracing.com sells shortblocks at a very affordable price since it doesnt sound like you want to spend a whole lot of money. If your wanting the toughest out there capable of BIG BIG power, MMR is a great choice as well, but also look into www.modularpowerhouse.com.
MPH isnt cheap but they only offer the best of the best engines....so no cheaper engines as an option.

Give either company a call and they will tell you exactly what you need. Good luck!

i have the plate kit and love it. its def a good system to get. I have sprayed the 150 and the 200 shot on stock motor with tuning and 2 step colder plugs the 200 shot i wont do again though cause thats very dangerous on stock motor but the 150 would be good if u get forged stuff in there and the crank should be fine.

I need some advice to choose the right pistons and beams to get forged...
From what I've read, the stock piston is 3.5460 stroke and some forged pistons i've seen on the web is a bit smaller (3.543)
Can I use it ?
And I've also noticed that some kit speak of cc (5cc, 10cc, 18cc, etc...) What's that mean ?

Thanks !

no offense meant, but maybe you should consider an assembled short block. talk to the builder and he will get you going in right direction.

I'm not an engine builder but I believe the forged piston need a little more piston-to-wall clearance than the stockers. This is due to the fact that the forged aluminum expands more (when at operating temperature) than the stock hypercrappys.

The 5cc, 10cc, 18cc numbers are the volume of the "dish" in the piston head. They are also available in a flat top configuration. The different configurations allow for different compression ratios depending on your application, heads, cams, power adders etc.

I'm running forge diamond piston with manley rods and a cobra crank...good for about 600-700 hp. HTH
