Today I brought my GT in to the dealer to be traded.

I have been doing yard work this fall and really was wishing I had a nice pick-up. I finally broke down and today I gave her away...literally gave her away.

The dealer said $21,000 and I pushed them, saying; "I will give you all my stock parts if you give me $22,000." They accepted the offer. Then told me they were going to remove my Baer brake kit and install the stock, and sell on Ebay.

I am closing on my new house on the 1st. Cannot do any credit checks or anything until that is out of the way. They are sending my $22,000 in the mail, and I will then be purchasing my 2011 FX4 Ecoboost. Should be picking it up the 2nd. They are putting the nurf bars, mud flaps, and clear bra on as I type this.

I will probably regret this decision someday, but for now...pretty stoked about the new truck.

That ecoboost lit the tires up at a 10 mph role. I was sold.

Needed to vent.

BTW. Watertown SD, there will be a nice cheap mustang being sold there. 10,000 miles.

My buddy drove one and said that wide open, the tires chirped when it shifted to 2nd gear.

I don't get the truck thing, but I can appreciate you're excited. New vehicles do that to me too...

truck thing? You must live in a large city.

I need a truck to haul leaves out of my yard, go fishing, etc. The Mustang was worthless. Sat in the garage 10 months of the year, everytime I drove it I felt guilty. So, it had to go.

Nope, and a home owner to boot. I just don't see the attraction to trucks - but I do borrow one from a buddy when I need to haul something. On the other hand, my Mustang is my daily driver and puts a big ear-to-ear grin on my face every time I mash the go peddle.

If I let mine sit for 10 months out of a year, I'd replace it with something else too. Just not sure what that would be...

I don't want to be that guy that needs to borrow a truck from a friend. I'd say 90% of the families I know have a truck. I live in the suburbs too, not on a farm.

My DD: 03 that I bought new. About 80K or so on the speedo. Changed the battery last month and a taillight bulb a few years ago. Other than routine maint that is it.

My sunny day, fun car stress reliever

I don't see you regreting this decision anytime soon. Sounds like the mustang didn't exact fit what you needed your vehicle to do. And that truck is still really nice (but myself if I was to get a truck it would have to be a Tacoma)

I bought an Ecoboost Lariat last April and love it! Nothing like having a truck in the stable.

Fortunately I kept my parked-10-months mustang as well. I did a little more work to it and it went 629RWHP at the Spokane International Mustang Meet. Just too much tire shredding fun to let go.

truck

If I go for any truck it will be an 01-02 Lightning. It needs to haul its own butt as well as anything else. Had one before the Stang--sometimes wish I kept it. wish I could have both and will one day.

That's the only way to survive up here in Canada,... need a truck to get around in the winter, [and work in the summer],.. and definitely need the mustang to cruise those hot summer nights!
