I am going to be purchasing an engine core from a local guy I met. He works at this shop that restores all shelby's and mustangs. He has a block which appears to be in stock condition, not bored out. GT headers with code's C7OE-9431-A on the left and C6OE-9430-A with the 14 bolt hole pattern. GT Exhaust manifolds, hardware and cylinder heads, and some other misc. for $350. He has also allowed me to purchase and then take it to be magnafluxed before the purchase is final to make sure the block is solid and has no cracks. Does this seem like a good deal? I thought it was considering that all the proper things for this engine are expensive and getting more and more difficult to come by. Please let me know and any feedback is welcome. Thanks.

Doesn't sound too unreasonable. The mainifolds go for about $100-150 a pair. The heads about the same. As for the block, 390's while not being plentiful as they once were, are still out there for the taking.( free often) I've got 3 spare blocks, several sets of C8 & D2 heads ( same as the 68-up GT heads) and a ready to run low miles 390 short block stashed in my shop. Tried to sell the short block and two good 390 cranks for a year, but no takers.

Mistake on information

Sorry, I made a mistake. The 2 codes I gave above were for the exhaust manifolds. The Headers have the code of C8AE-H with the 14 bolt pattern. Apparently from my research this is the right thing. And yes this is an S code car. It seems like $350 is a good price. What do you all think?
