spintech prostreets for the win!

as stated above, pro streets with a o/r x sounds sick. very loud, very pronounced with tailpipes. the higher rpms it almost has a 32v scream to it

something else to consider is Mac. i took my girlfriend last night to buy her 1st mustang , a 94 gt. it already had Mac long tubes, mac o/r H pipe and the full Mac cat back mufflers with tails. the car really sounds sweet. not hardly as loud as my pro streets but very close. mac products are priced very reasonable

flowmasters sound good no doubt. i just like having something different

Fastgtfairlane - Where they back to back dyno runs? He swapped the pipes right there?

I dislike dumps as well.

With longtubes, swapping the mid-pipe is easy.

well i just ordered bbk o/r h-pipe for a good price which was about $150 at jegs. i talked to 1 of the guys at the shop and he said that w/ flowmasters, it will sound pretty mean and deep w/o any raspy sound especially with the shorties. he also stated that there isnt so much of a difference in power loss compared to an x-pipe. at most about 1 hp taken away. cant wait until that big brown truck comes so i could slap this on

Sorry Adam I have to take issue with a few of these based on my experience:

2- My car drones with my high flow cats on it... I remove it for sound...
4- DUMPS ROCK Period... I love how my car sounds...
5- My car does not drone at all. Get gears to get our of the 1800-2000 RPM range and no more drone.

So as you can see everyone has an opinion... I think this year I am going to try and put an x-pipe on it to get a different sound. been running the H for 3 years now...

2 - My car droned with and without cats
4 - To each his own on that one. I also like the look of tail pipes, it reminds me of the 50s hot rods with the long skinny stainless steel pipes sticking out the back. IMO, fast cars just don't look complete without the tail pipes!
5 - Even with 4.10s I was still cruising around mostly in that range. I am a drone NUT though so maybe I was too sensitive.

It is a very objective thing, I'll be the first to admit.

no they were not back to back but on the same dyno. the owner of the dyno is good friends with the guy with the gt im talking about. i do not have access to the graphs to back it up but i know for sure its true. its totally up to you whether or not you wanna believe it or not. the thing with crossover pipes is to get the actual crossover as close to the headers as possible where the exhaust temp is hot. it creates more scavenging which in turn makes more power. if you go to the dr gas website and read the articles about it, it will tell you more about it. the dr gas x pipes became popular in nascar at tracks like daytona and talladega where the cars run restrictor plates so the teams try to get every inch of hp out of their cars. just read these articles cause i dont wanna type it all out.
