Ok, since Im in the middle of doing my PI intake swap maybe I would put on a set of 2v F-150 heads that are from a 2000 truck. Theyve been sitting around for a while and I have no idea what to do with them. They also have the cams in them. So are these things better than the NPI heads that I have already? Or should I just forget about it? What do yall guys think?

OH one more thing budget is a huge deal so I cant afford to get some PI heads. Also I'm assuming the timing cover has to come of and that timing chain system on the mustangs looks pretty intimidating to take off and get it back right again. How hard is this to do. I just graduated automotive school but I dont have a lot of modular experiance.

Those heads will bump your compression quite a bit. You'll probably need a tune afterward. You will net more power though, so I say it's worth it.

You're going to have to do some reading up and researching before you take this on. However, it is not a hard job if you just take your time and double check your work. The only real concern is making sure you line up your crank and cams properly. After that, everything else is gravy.

You may also need cam covers. I'm not sure on the yearly breakdown for these. Count the bolts in your heads and count the bolts on the truck heads. If they're different, you'll need cam covers.

Also, do you have the correct heater return tube (in the valley) for the PI intake? swap?

Thanks for the replys guys. I ask the question cause If there was a time to do it now would be the time since I have half the moter apart. Are there any distinguishing marks or traits on the 2000 F-150 heads to set them apart from some regular NPI heads?

Well guys I took them over to the porting shop today and they are definitly NPI, so that sucks a fat one:notnice: So should I just get them ported or wait and get some foxlake or patiot heads? Stage 2 port job would be 700 including bigger valves with 7 angle cut on the seat. Also includes bowl porting and gasket matching. So what are yall's opinions? My goal is breaking into the 12 w/o spray.
