im 15 years old and my first car is a 1971 mustang with a 302. Me, my dad, and my bro have been trying to make a restomod out of it, and i need some advice.

my car is in the body shop right now getting a new paint job, and when it gets out its gonna be ready for some new wheels. I really wanted some "American racing torque thrust II's" but im not exactly sure yet. i was wondering what the biggest rim i could fit under there is (without any modification). I wanted to go with some 17x8's but im not sure if they will fit, and no one round here seems to know the answer to my question. i dont really trust my own measurments because my car seems to be prone to screw up's. So any help will be muchly appreciated.

If you got any suggestions on what style wheels to use, i am open to change.

i know for a fact that 17x8 with 5 1/2" backspace will NOT fit. it hits the front of the innner wheel house.....

or you could go semi orginal with Magnum 500's. i bought 35 year old rims for mine. there is a little rust but it adds character!
