Good street/strip cams for a 5.0?

Just curious what you guys like. Trick Flow heads if that matters.

or a lot of people like the FTI custom cams.

it also depends what you want. do you want top end power or low end power.

Which FMS alphabet cam has the gnarliest idle? Sounds like stupid criteria for selcting a cam, but I just about wet myself each year when I go to the Car Craft show in St.Paul each year and I hear all those cars with that "bu-bupitta Buptita" sound.

I run a trickflow stage 3, and it is pretty tame. Your heads have to flow really well for it to work though.

i dont like the way the idle sounds on it, but at wide open throttle it's MEAN!

anyone have sound clips from teh FMS alphabet cam? is it a street cam

if you want top end the trick flow stage one is great! can't beat the price either/ $140.

but if you don't mind the extra bucks a custom FTI cam might give you that extra little bit. I'm just going by what i've heard about the custom cams.

How do you plan to tune it? If you stick a moderate to wild cam in there you WILL have idle issues, especially in a cam designed for high RPM (due to duration and overlap).

i turned the idle up and it idles fine once it warms up. I'm thinking about getting a tune real soon since i plan on keeping this engine setup for a long time.
