Goodyear Tires?

Hey all, I just had a quick question. I'm looking to buy a new set of tires. I live in Minnesota but I dont want to/cant afford to buy a winter set and a regular set. I was looking for a really good tire that has really good snow traction and I came upon The Goodyear Assurance TripleTread. THe ratings for this tire are excellent accross the board. But there are no mustang owners running these on Tirerack.com. Just wondering if you guys had any input.

I'm running Dunlop GT Qualifiers. But we don't see much snow in Tejas. Some ice ...but rarely. Send us some of your snow.

We dont have any! Not yet anyway. But I'm a snowboarder so i can use fake snow.

I got the BFGoodrich Traction T/A, which I think are great so far. I haven't had experience in them with snow yet, but we're projected to get snow on Monday, so I'll see.

So far though, they are great in both wet and dry situations. My other tires would squeal if I turned to tightly and too fast, but these don't. They're very quiet on the highway (well I can't hear them over my exhaust at least, or my radio).

Definitely A++ tires.

I don't have any info on those, besides seeing them a few times on TV and around a few shops, but I don't like them. Their thread pattern just does not seem good for snow/ice.

Those Michelin Sports are excellent tires but EXTREMELY expensive. More so then the Eagle F1 DSG3 tires which are expensive as well.

You get what you pay for, but you can't go wrong with those Goodyear tires on your v6.

Well snow traction with the BFG's is nice. Ice I can't say much for, since no tires are good with ice. I didn't slide or spin in the inch of snow we had so far, so another + in my book for my BFGs

Alright guys, I got 4 of the BFG Traction T/A's put on yesterday and right away it started to snow, we also had a nice layer of ice under that. I have a 70lb sand bag in back from my old tires. And, well, these tires are amazing. I can't spin them unless I floor it. I have control through snow drifts and on the highway. I paid $385 w/tax at Tires plus. Maybe more than other places, but I needed them cause I didnt want to be sliding around the roads. Thanks for your imputs guys!

i'm running kumho ECSTA ASX tires. 245/45 17's and they run like $95/ea with a 30k warranty. Love 'em.

Blizzaks handle ice just fine (for six years now in Buffalo).

Not to say they are bad tires. they are descent, I sell them where i work. They dont' have the best snow traction. They seem to "clog up easily". The design of the tire doesn't spin the snow off the best. They have lot of good sipping for ice though, which is a plus.

Pilot sports are awesome, and would have bought them if i had the money too. Damn they are expensive, and have no millage warranty. I put on Firestone Indy 500's as my winter and all season tire. They are white letter which looks bad ass, and they have great snow and ice traction. They came with a 50,000 or 60,000 mile warranty. Can't remember for sure. Thats Wear warrany only too...

Triple tread goodyears suck in the snow. No matter what they say, they have No tread block to chew threw it. They have sipping, and good water channeling, which its ideal for southern applications. Along with an 80,000 mile warranty.

Another good tire i recommend is the BF Goodrich Radial T/A, its been around so long and provin its realiability. Also comes in White lettering too, which i am quite fond of. 50,000 mile warranty. Its to bad i didn't see this thread before to give you some info. I live in ND right next door and know what the weather conditions can get like there too. You should be allright with those tires you got, just still be cautious.

Also, Blizzaks are great. Just dont' run them in the summer, they'll be gone before you know it. They're far to soft and can even explode in the summer when they get to warm. Winterforce is also a descent "cheap" snow and ice tire. Same deal though, take them off when it starts to warm up.

I am actually really happy with the snow traction. Have you ever used the Traction T/A's in the snow? THey are awsome, barely any slippage. Plus, for someone who doesnt want to spend $90+ on each tire, these are great. The radial T/A is a good tire, yes, I've had them on 2 cars. But they are terrible in the snow. These traction's are way better.
