No it was me being rude, you were asking a simple question about why it's not in the owners manual and I snapped at you.

and about the modifier I bet your mechanic meant that some of the synths come with it built in. on you car I would test your limited slip.. if it don't bind and puts down 2 slabs then ask your mechanic if he put some in, he might have realized after a road test that the fluid had no modifier.

A little update on this thread. Yesterday when i was at work my mom took the initiative to pick up some friction modifier at the local Ford dealer. Well i guess the guys she talked to (parts dep.) said the damage has already been done and that i prolly fried my friction plates and rear diff. Was this guy blowin smoke or was he tellin some truth to the situation? Either way i need to have my car looked at sometime soon. More help would be greatly appreaciated.

I may be wrong but if all you did was change the fluid then you really shouldn't have a major problem because the modifier from the previous fluid would still have a residual effect. I don't think your vibration is from the rear end if it is only doing it from 50mph...Does it vibrate in any gear or just overdrive, at certain RPM's?

I'm pretty sure its coming from the rear end. It happens when in 4th and 5th gear, it may happen in lower gears but my car is so loud maybe i can't hear it. But this vibration you can defintely hear and feel. I've heard i could have bad u-joints also.

That's what I was thinking. It is maybe a coincedence that you noticed the vibration after the fluid change.

My experience was that it was rpm related...around 2500 I'd get the vibe in any gear. Get under the car and see if there is any play in the DS yoke. It would be a wobble that would be pretty noticable. That's what happened to mine. A side note is I didn't have a problem until the gear swap...which just so happened to require a complete fluid change. Not saying it was related but could be that the fluid change excerbated the noise from a bad u-joint.

Well gentleman, i think i found the problem. I noticed these bolts were loose when i was re-doing my diff. at work today. I tightened them by hand as much as i could cause we didn't have the tool to fit the bolts and figured i could do it at home. On the way home i noticed a huge difference. It was kinda still there but the majority had gone away. Then when i got home i tightened them as much as i could. Hopefully tomorrow morning it will be gone. Any thoughts?
