Well since the car has been down for a while I've been getting the itch for fun/stupid fast sh|t :D It's a 94 GSX 750f Katana with only 8,6xx miles, was dropped once and had some front end stuff replaced, but they didn't have enough cash at the time to fix the fairings. My buddy drove it home because I'm not experienced enough with traffic and various road conditions etc. yet, but I had it out for 2hrs around the neighborhood and such. Only real gripe is the mirrors are total garbage (looks like they were bought at pep boys for $5 lmao, all you can see if your arms)...but I just bought a new pair on ebay so that will be fixed shortly! Oh yeah and my friend's brother did an oil change on it, but didn't tighten the new filter on more than a turn, so it was leaking oil and couldn't figure out why till the bike was cold - then just reached up in there and tightened the filter down GOOD AS NEW! Going to get legal tomorrow or Thursday and sign up for a training course as well :D

Not a bad bike for $600 - has new clutch, tires and battery too! 8)

ive been gettin the itch for a bike myself!

Gotta say, if you have the means, pick one up! It's such a feeling of freedom :flag: People say it's nerve racking having to constantly be in tune with your surroundings, but driving a pretty fast car has gotten me atleast SOMEWHAT prepared for that (going fast in the car is no where NEAR as insane as on the bike though...) plus I ride my bicycle 80 miles a week on the road so I'm used to having much bigger things than me not pay attention and almost kill me on a daily basis :rlaugh:

wow 600 bucks thats a really good deal i must say. Im looking for a stunter and a 750 would be perfect especially for 600 dollars. so far the best ive found is a 2003 cbr600rr for 3000. its a race bike thats why its so cheap.

make sure when ur out riding you keep ur mind clear and dont think about any of this wrecking and possibly killing yourself. From what ive learned on a dirtbike the minute you get that into your mind it happens.

Oh and another thing make sure you dont ever think ur better than the bike cause thats when it will get the best of ya too. just stay safe man take it easy for a while get use to the road and being around other cars before you start to push it.

look up the MSF beginners course for a riding school. Its typically one or two days and in a lot of states if you pass it, it will void the riding part of your lisence test. Many insurance companies will give you discounts too.:nice:

:nice: Yeah here in Indiana its all done through a company called ABATE - I'm gonna sign up with a buddy of mine who needs to take the basic before they will let him take the advanced course, and possible another who has never been on anything with two wheels before (barely ridden bicycles lol).

gear

You got a good deal, nice job.

Now make sure you get some good gear and wear it.

I read a story about a guy who tipped his bike over at 5mph coming out of his driveway and hit his head on a rock, brain dammage. Always wear your helmet.

Try on lots of helmets, find one that fits good. Teknic makes some of he best jackets. Get a good pair of gloves and wear boots all the time, not tennis shoes. You don't want to break an ankle if you go down.

I have a Ducati and love it. Makes the stang feel like a slug though. :nonono:

Have fun and be safe.

Yeah, the kat is so much faster than the blower car LOL I took her up to 85 from a stop today...needless to say it gets there quick :nice: I get Fulmer and Vega helmets through work, so I put my order in for one yesturday, should be here tomorrow. For now I'm just using my buddies HJC. I do need a jacket, boots, and gloves for sure!

Nice bike. I love the old school Gixxer 750's.

Heh thanks, but it's a Katana. :owned:

Lil update - I scored some used fairings (in the right color!), a smoked windscreen, and the new mirrors off eBay! Also, turns out my brother had a riding jacket that doesn't fit him, so I stole it and that saves me $500 :nice: I got a new Fulmer AFS1 helmet through work today also (love getting stuff at cost :D)...

BTW Seafoam pwns on motorcycles, too. :jaw:
